The Junipers


Juniperus species are a large family of plants from the Northern Hemisphere. They are tough plants with scale like foliage that is heat & cold resistant. Many species do well in the Desert. Junipers can be used as topiary. There are many species & cultivated varieties of Junipers. These varieties vary greatly in size, shape, color, & climate needs. The berry like fruit was used to make Gin. This fruit is important to wildlife. These plants make perfect Bonsai. Juniper cones are berrylike & they have waxy, thick , scale like leafs.
