The Cyress Family

The Cypress family or Cupressaceae is a large group of conifers that have scale like foliage & fleshy cones. The wood is highly aromatic similar to Cedar. Cypress trees are only found in the Northern Hemisphere in a wide variety of climates. Cypress are most often encountered as trees or large shrubs. Many Cypress varieties come from arid climates & do well in the desert. Many of our California native Cypress species are found in coastal areas.
