Heavenly Bamboo

Nandina domestica is a commonly used landscape plant around the world. It is very hardy & adaptable, it is tolerant of both great heat & cold & both wet & dry soils. Nandina is not related to true Bamboo at all. The resemblance comes from the the lacy bamboo like evergreen leaves that the Nandina has. Heavenly Bamboos come in a variety of sizes ranging from dwarfs that reach just 2 feet high & wide all the up to large varieties that grow 10 feet high & wide. The foliage often takes on a bronze to orange cast in direct sun. Nandinas are hardy to-10 degrees F & are drought tolerant. Nandina also boasts bright red berries that decorate the plant during the winter.
