
Juniperus sabina & cultivars are a commonly encountered plant. It was widely planted in the past in many arid areas of North America. There are many varieties of this type of Juniper with many colors & sizes. All of them are cold, drought, heat tolerant. The young foliage is prickly. This plant differs from Cupressus sempervirens in that it has a stronger smell & it has a more horizontal not vertical growth habit.
